Each modular section of the skid plate is constructed from a -inch thick aluminum plate, providing remarkable strength in a lightweight package. While it has ample trail-proof toughness to overcome any obstacle, we wanted tougher, so we added our proprietary Trail Armor Technology.
This flexible UHMW polyethylene composite overlay creates less surface resistance when sliding over rocks and greater impact resistance when you bang into them. And the composite exterior panels are easily replaceable to maintain optimum protection. Each skid plate section features recessed mounting hardware, so you're less likely to get hung up, and when it's time for routine maintenance, drop the plate for easy access to the protected components.
The Rugged Ridge Modular Skid Plate System offers critical coverage for the engine and transmission (Part No. 18003.52), or step-up to full front-to-rear coverage by adding gas tank and exhaust skids (Part No. 18003.53 requires installation of 18003.52 Engine/Trans Skid Plates).
